Promoting global citizenship in schools and communities worldwide
Ring of Peace is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting peace on every level: individual, domestic, local, national and global. Ring of Peace helps people all over the world to communicate freely and in a positive way. It seeks to change the perception that conflict is active and peace is inactive by allowing people all over the world to be actively involved in promoting peace.
The Ring is an annual event organised by Ring of Peace on the UN International Day of Peace, September 21. A simple Message of Peace is passed by phone call or video chat from one Messenger to another, country to country, until it forms a ring around the globe. It inspires communication and creates a worldwide chain of people of all professions, ages, nationalities and ethnicities. Anyone can participate.
This year’s Ring aims to have over 1000 messengers from over 100 countries.
Ring of Peace is also planning several other exciting initiatives including a 24 hour webinar devoted to spirituality and healing, and an international theatre-based learning experience for underprivileged drama students from Belfast, Los Angeles and Charlotte.
